-- LOS ANGELES - The former-wife of billionaire Kirk Kerkorian is suing
a celebrity private investigator who allegedly wiretapped her during
her child-support battle with her ex.
Former tennis pro Lisa Bonder Kerkorian filed suit in Los Angeles
against gumshoe Anthony Pellicano, claiming invasion of privacy,
emotional distress and that he violated federal wiretapping and
eavesdropping laws. AT&T was also named in the suit.
L.A. prosecutors have claimed Pellicano was paid $100,000 by
Beverly Hills lawyer Terry Christensen to bug Bonder Kerkorian's phone
in 2002. Christensen, 65, is facing federal charges in connection with the scandal.
The suit claims that the billionaire's ex-wife was heard
discussing the identity of her child's biological father and other
matters with her lawyer that are protected by attorney-client
privilege. Pellicano bragged that the information he picked up from the
wiretaps was "worth its weight in gold," according to court papers. Meanwhile "Die Hard" director John McTiernan, another
Pellicano client who had been indicted in the phone-tapping case,
pleaded guilty yesterday to lying to federal agents. McTiernan admitted that he had lied when he said that he had
not asked Pellicano to wiretap producer Charles Roven, with whom he
worked on the 2002 film "Rollerball."
